Henry David Thoreau visited Cape Cod on four separate occasions and wrote about it in one narrative published in 1865. A quote from his book mirrors much how I felt during our visit to Cape Cod’s beaches:
We actually left the beach part of our visit to Cape Cod to the very last minute and the sun was setting quite fast. If we knew how beautiful it would have been I’m sure we would have allotted ourselves more time.
Still, we were both impressed and wowed with Cape Cod’s beaches. Since we got there so late in the evening, it was quiet and serene. The sand was so soft, the summer evening was perfect, the dunes spectacular, and the mix of tall green grass, beige sand, and blue ocean made for the most beautiful photos.
