Look Mom, I’m on Top of the World!

See the blue in the above photo? It’s not the sky – it’s the Pacific ocean! Hiking in Laguna Beach’s Top of the World Park really does make one feel like they are on top of the world. In fact, the park is 1,000 feet above sea level and on a clear day one can view almost all of Orange County. There are miles of trails – one could easily get lost in their maze, but it made for a fantastic adventure.

After our lovely day spent in San Diego we decided to hit up Laguna Beach one more time on our way back to our starting point in Los Angeles. We thought a hike would be the perfect way to spend an afternoon, and we couldn’t wait to see what Laguna had to offer…

We weren’t disappointed! The park is only a short drive from the town-center, and afterwards, once famished, we headed back down for a hearty lunch in one of Laguna’s many cafes. By the time we were ready for a stroll along the beach, the sun was beginning to set, which made for some beautiful photos. Ahhhh, Laguna Beach!

I sat here on this bench watching the sun set on the horizon while listening to the crashing waves as the tides came in. There was a lady to my right practicing yoga, doing her sun salutations in the glow of the setting sun. One more time – all together now: ahhhh, Laguna Beach!!
